Light should not simply
Be taken for granted.
After all, it is the reason
Why things can appear slanted.
This thing we call light,
Which is barely understood,
Is full of a might
That is used to accomplish good.
No—light is not truly a thing.
Though it is not tangible,
It elicits a certain feeling
For which it itself is responsible.
In the beginning, it was said,
“Let there be light.”
Light, as thin as a thread,
Weaved its own pattern that night.
Even now, it thrives.
Its wonder and power
Have been imbued in our lives
Meant to bloom and flower.
Be taken for granted.
After all, it is the reason
Why things can appear slanted.
This thing we call light,
Which is barely understood,
Is full of a might
That is used to accomplish good.
